In November 2023, Netpol held a “Movement Gathering” event in London and invited frontline campaigning groups and legal support groups to take part. A series of workshops aimed at sharing information and building knowledge on the growing repression of the right to protest in Britain.
One of the discussions that emerged from the workshop on police surveillance centred on the difficulties of finding accessible and easily digestible information resisting mass intelligence gathering. It recommended a shared online resource that included practical resources that movements and groups could share with their members and on social media.
This project has begun with a focus on surveillance, but our 2023 event also agreed on the important of solidarity and building networks and connections between different campaigns and struggles.
